For Christmas I received the coveted (well, by me) Stainless Steel Tumbler adorned with Swarovski crystals, and the pictures just do NOT do it justice. It is gorgeous. Absolutely perfect for a Swarovski fanatic (me) and/or someone who loves coffee (also, me). Crystals and coffee... what could be better?!
However, after reading the reviews (thank goodness) I discovered quite a few people had issues with the crystals coming off and that was NOT something I would tolerate. I think I read every single one of those reviews to get the best idea of what to do. The most common suggest was: clear nail polish. It made complete sense- put a few coats on the crystal ring to seal those babies on! It is a "hand wash" only product which means it will never be submerged in water long enough to eat away at the polish.
I have to admit I wanted the BEST and strongest top coat out there, and after doing some more research (I felt like I was back in my legal writing class again!) I decided on Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure Ultra-Wear. It's supposed to keep your manicure looking great for up to 10 days, so I figured this would be the best bet for me. I applied three coats, and made sure to not hold the tumbler upright while painting because the polish would start to run down. I also made sure to do the top and bottom of the band really well because they seem to jut out the most there.
I will definitely post an update after a few uses! You can find the tumbler here, but unfortunately the gold is no longer available. The new color is black with the crystals- which is just as stunning!
