I remember getting my first MAC lip gloss back when I started high school and just thinking I was SO stylish because apart from ultra designer makeup (i.e. Chanel), MAC was trendy and cool. MAC was cool, so I was cool. Little did I know that's not quite how the world works...
But anyway, a few years later I got my first compact foundation, and I was so excited to try out the world of makeup. Aside from the occasional lip gloss and eye shadow, I stopped purchasing MAC because it got to be expensive- a main reason why people don't buy a lot of brands of makeup- but I didn't realize until recently that it was expensive because I didn't know how to use it. Yes, it goes on your face, but I definitely had no concept of how much you actually needed. Currently, I love my MAC foundation, and 99% of my makeup pictures are done with a MAC face, but I don't worry about it being expensive because it lasts now. You do not need as much as you think you do! With the right shade and a good brush, a few decent size dabs will do you.
I love MAC (mostly) because of the colors. They are so bright and vibrant that it's so hard to not buy every new product they release. Here are my most recent purchases:
Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in DivineDivine
Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipstick
Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipgloss
Lipstick in Violetta
Lip Pencils in Magenta and Embrace Me
Powder Blush in This Could Be Fun
Here's what everything looks on *my* skin in natural light with NO filters:
From top to bottom: Retro Matte Lipcolour, Ariana Grande lipstick, Violetta lipstick, Ariana Grande lip gloss, powder blush, lipliner in Magenta, and lipliner in Embrace Me.
In all, I am VERY happy with all these products! Especially the Retro Matte Lipcolour- man, oh man does that stuff STAY! Through eating, drinking, and wiping- it is definitely some of the longest wearing lip product I have ever worn. And, the color is SO bright! Luckily, I like bright, but if you're hesitant about colors I recommend buying in store rather than online. I can't wait to try the blush, as I'm really into purple shades right now and think it's very flattering on the lips! MAC is one of those companies where you can pull of any look you want because of the high quality products, and the beautiful, pigmented colors! It's worth noting the Ariana Grande products are limited edition, so if you like them get them soon! The Embrace Me lipliner and This Could Be Fun blush is from the new Flamingo collection, which is chalk full of beautiful pinks and peaches!
