If you're anything like me, the abundance of knickknacks and unnecessary (albeit cute) small goods at the front of stores can be a death trap for your wallet. Sure, all those Target goodies might be $1 or $3, but picking up even two or three of those items (think getting a few of these CUTE birthday plates they recently had) can already add up to almost $10!
Now, $3 for some plastic plates you'll use over and over again is one thing, but what about spending around $16 for a little pouch of items that are a "one time deal"?
Enter: the Minimergency Kit.
I'm sure by now you have seen these cute little packages at your nearest Sephora or Francesca's. They come in various solid colors as well as prints, sequin, and glitter (like mine!) I received this one from one of my closest friends, and I was so happy because I had used up my old one months ago. Here's what you get inside:
"Why buy that tiny thing when I can buy full size items that last longer?"
Convenience. Size. Practicality.
Let's face it- who really wants to carry an entire can of hairspray or deodorant around? Unless you have a substantial sized purse- it's just not realistic- and even me with my humungous Neverfull would never want to carry full size items. I think of it as $16 spent to get you started to maintain a small, handy set of everyday tools. So, when you use up an item in the pouch, you know what to replace it with and with how much. You really never know when you'll need the tape to raise a torn seam, or clear polish to fix a stocking run, or even the sewing kit to get those torn pants through a few hours of work until you can change.
I am actually obsessed with the Pinch Provisions (the maker) website because of the various types, sizes, and colors they make. I mean, come on, they have one just for dogs! They also make one for men, and have a specialty kit for teachers! (Which would make a perfect teacher's gift…)
I know I definitely love having one, and I think you will too! If you don't purchase one, I do hope this makes you think about some necessities you should be carrying with you!
